The egg production can also serve as a good indication of the health of your animals.
Dosing feed accurately is effortless with the electronic feed weigher from Hotraco Agri. An important part of this feed weigher is the bin the feed falls into after weighing.
Hotraco Agri is introducing a new management program for the pig farmer, called: Prisma Farm Management. The application serves to provide clear and efficient operational management and supports pig farmers in improving animal performance. Prisma Farm Management works hand in hand with the Thomas automation system and is now market-ready!
As a pig farmer, it is important to be able to monitor your animals' growth. A new addition to the Thomas® system is animal weighing. This links the computer to a pig weigher so animal weight can be monitored 24/7. The animal data can also be read out in the Prisma Farm Management program and, as an added feature, the system links this information to the feed and water registration. In short, Thomas® animal weighing gives pig farmers good insight into the performance of their animals at any time of the day, and this system helps them deliver the pigs at the right weight.

Hotraco Agri has been working hard in 2018 to further expand the innovative Fortica® system with new controls, the new SyslinQ Remote App and a new management program in which the user takes centre stage! These new functionalities and solutions result in improved performance of broilers, layers and breeders, and also support poultry farmers in the running of a well-organised and efficient operation. We were proud to present the upgraded Fortica® system this summer at VIV Europe and, as promised, it will be ready for market from 1 October 2018!
26 September Get to know our new management program for the Fortica® system in which the user takes centre stage! The Novus Farm Management program is a very user-friendly management system that makes relevant data from the barn graphically visible and enabling poultry farmers to easily compare the data for all their barns. Such data might include results concerning mortality, animal weight, climate, feed and water intake. Poultry farmers can organise the dashboard of the management system themselves and decide which data they regard as important and want to compare. This new management program for the Fortica® system makes important management information available quickly and clearly, so that poultry farmers can implement improvements efficiently and can respond immediately and appropriately to any acute changes. Alarm centre for maximum safety Novus Farm Management also has an alarm centre that alerts poultry farmers personally in the event of acute changes in the barn. Thanks to the priority categories, they can see whether immediate action is required or whether it can be done during their routine daily rounds. This new management programm is available from October 1st togheter with the new release of the Fortica® System!
With the Fortica SyslinQ remote app it is possible to control all connected process systems via a smartphone or tablet and to operate them from anywhere in the world. In short, from a single screen the poultry farmer can view the Fortica-P poultry computer, the Fortica-FWS feed weighing computer and the overall FortLink unit, and can change settings as required. The screen layout in the app is exactly the same as that on the computer. In addition, the main menu can be fully customised according to the poultry farmer’s personal wishes, so that the most important parameters will also be displayed quickly on the app.

Pig farmers also had a daily chance of winning one of the five attractive Thomas® SoftShell jacks donated by Hotraco Agri.
This year broiler farmer Ramon Harmes of Klazienaveen in the province of Drenthe (NL) has upgraded from the ORION® system to the new touch screen Fortica® system. The broiler house systems were installed by poultry house automation specialist Kosse Staltechnieken, which the Harmes family has relied on for the past 25 years. The Harmes had four broiler houses, but they recently razed two to make room for two brand ones with the innovative new Fortica® system. The other two barns are still in use and have been converted to Fortica®. Two additional large broiler houses are currently being built. In total, the agricultural enterprise will have space to house 248,500 broilers, with the day-old chicks being held 6 to 8 weeks. The goal is transformation into a sustainable poultry farm. In keeping with this plan, electricity is generated by solar panels and the barns will be heated with energy produced by burning manure.
With the release of the new software version for the Fortica®, this innovative, full touchscreen poultry computer has become even more versatile, better and more complete. A huge amount of effort has gone into optimizing the graphical interface of the Fortica-P poultry computer and the Fortica-FWS feed weighing computer. The result is further improvement of the ease of use and control. Two important new features have also been added: fire detection and silo overview.
The hub of this new platform is the Fortlink®, a new, central, touchscreen control unit with a built-in communication interface. The Fortlink® provides the connection between all the Fortica® management computers present within a poultry farm, which in turn control various components for climate control, ventilation, animal weighing and feed and water control. The Fortlink® makes it possible to access real-time data from up to 50 individual Forticas. This gives the poultry farmer a complete overview of their farm operation from a central location. Any anomalies or alarms are apparent at a glance.
The International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE), which was held in Atlanta (USA) from 31 January to 2 February 2017, is one of the largest international trade shows in the world with over 30,000 visitors from the poultry, meat, and feed industry. With a strong focus on creating innovative, problem-specific solutions for optimal barn automation, Hotraco Agri showed what it has.
