Feed automation for a pig barn in the United Kingdom

A pig barn in the United Kingdom has been fully automated to allow feed testing at the sty level. The barn has 24 feed silos and the feed is mixed and distributed to the various sties by two feed weighers.

The switchpanel has two integrated ORION-DF computers, which control the feed system. The climate of each section is controlled by a CYGNUS-V regulator. The climate and feed computers are all connected to the SMARTLINK-RM. From the SMARTLINK-RM, a remote connection is created to a PC with the Rainbow+ program, which allows the feed factory to monitor and adjust the feed tests from the head office and which makes it possible for the data to be exported to a file for further analysis. The farm manager and the feed factory can use an app which allows them to monitor the barn and adjust the settings online from any location in the world via their smartphone.
