How to influence cage-free layer behavior

From feeding and drinking, to burning calories and laying eggs. Laying hens behave differently in many ways when they are out of the cage. This means that egg producers need to set up their processes differently in order to achieve optimal results. In particular, ventilation, nest control and egg counting require a different approach in cage-free houses.

More about MPF

The Midwest Poultry Federation (MPF) was founded in 1971 and held its first convention in Minneapolis in 1972. MPF’s primary purpose is to host an annual convention emphasizing on-farm poultry production. The convention’s goal is to offer cutting-edge information to attendees through a balanced offering of exhibits and educational workshops.

All revenue (after expenses are paid) generated by the MPF Convention is donated to various poultry organizations for research and educational activities.
